I Build AI Native
Software

As an AI engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Konga, I built the mobile app for over 200,000 shoppers. I’m also the founder of Emelar Republik. Over the past eight years, I’ve been building and shipping software across the stack from Lagos, Nigeria.

At Konga

Nigeria’s online marketplace. I work across the whole chain: the app where shoppers pay, the ads that earn on every search, and the scanners that get the parcel to the door.

  • A rebuild is no excuse to stop selling. While the Flutter development progressed, I kept the native app shipping: fixed guest checkout to cut friction at the till, richer product filters, a global flash-sale banner, improved analytics tracking, and a faster product listing amongst other squashed bugs.

    Kotlin, Java, XML

  • Every order the app sells has to physically move. This is the app warehouse staff use to scan each waybill from origin, through incoming and outgoing, to last mile. It dates from the Eclipse era (an 11-year-old codebase) and still runs on handheld scanners across Konga’s warehouses. I own it: I keep it stable and recently extended it to new scanner hardware, so logistics never waits on software.

  • Konga’s retail media network: sponsored placements across search and listings, sold on a CPC model. I built the billing and spend layer, click-to-impression attribution and deduplication, ad slot allocation, and spend control across concurrent campaigns.

floodfill_span is my Dart package for paint and image apps. It fills a row at a time instead of a pixel at a time. This drawing runs the same algorithm, ported to JavaScript.

As an AI engineer, I build RAG systems, tool-using agents and the apps that put them into people’s hands. My primary languages are TypeScript and Python, with Flutter and React used on the client side.

A clear example of my work is constitution.ng, a RAG system built over Nigeria’s constitution. Users can ask about their rights in English or Pidgin and receive a plain-English answer with the exact section it references. During its published retrieval test, the correct section was listed first for 54 out of 55 everyday questions.

My agent work is live in MOmsi, a pregnancy and postpartum app available on the App Store and Google Play. MOmsi AI operates on a tool-calling loop I developed, streams replies, handles audio input and performs ownership checks on every call.

My journey began with studying computer science at Yaba College of Technology and teaching Android development at the YabaTech chapter of the Nigeria Association of Computing Students before I was paid to write. Eight years later, I build AI systems end-to-end, from retrieval to serving.

I still ship mobile apps at scale. For instance, at Konga, a platform generating over $50 million in sales with 200,000+ mobile users shopping from their phones, I rebuilt the app in Flutter without disrupting the checkout process.

Emelar Republik is where I develop my own projects, including constitution.ng and an app that learns what your cat is trying to say.

I also create agent skills for my workflows, write SWE-bench-style tasks for evaluating coding agents, contribute to open source and mentor over 100 developers across Africa.

If you need an engineer who can integrate AI into a revenue-critical app, lead a team or take a product from concept to store shelves, please contact me.
